At the recommendation of the Pandemic Response Team, Israel is set to become the first country in the world to roll out fourth shots of the coronavirus vaccine.

The roll-out will target at risk groups such as medical personnel and those aged above sixty years.

PM Naftali Bennett said the development was ‘great news’ and encouraged eligible individuals to get vaccinated.

The government is now preparing for an ‘extensive roll-out operation’.

This comes amid increased concern over the spread of the omicron variant.
